Discipleship is the word that we use for following Jesus. He called us to be his disciples, his apprentices ... to learn from him and to do for others what he has done for us.
In one sense, everything that you do at First Alliance Church could fall under the category of discipleship. But at the end of the day, it boils down to your relationship to Jesus, how well you know him, follow him, live like him and then bring others along to follow him too.
Get to Know Jesus
On our website, we have two resources for you to meet and get to know Jesus. Please take some time with them. Ask your questions. Take some next steps and come on this journey with us.
Get Serious About Jesus
Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it. What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done. ... Matthew 16:24-27
Serious followers of Jesus will make him and his work a priority. Here are several other ways to join us as disciples and apprentices of our Lord.
- Commit to regular worship with the body of Christ.
- Find a place to serve and use your gifts for his glory.
- Tell others about Jesus and what he is doing among us.
- Support God's Work with a recurring gift to the Lord.
May your pursuit of Jesus be fulfilling for you and glorifying for God!
