Sacred Assembly
by Pastor Jason Hinton
Building on the Alliance-wide 40 Days of Prayer, which started in January, the First Alliance family has continued with two initiatives to strengthen our relationships with one another and with Jesus, alongside our focus on prayer. The first of these initiatives is “The Gathering,” which happens at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings in the Sanctuary. Here, we intentionally gather to share what we are thankful for and to prepare our hearts for worship. We are so pleased to see how God is working through this and hope that you will join us next Sunday. Just show up and we will get you settled into a group of your choosing!
Secondly, at the start of February, we entered into a month of fasting. Each one has decided what and how to fast, in order to set aside more time and energy to focus on strengthening our walk with the Lord, intentional prayer, and waiting on God. We look forward to hearing testimonies of what God has done during this time. In order to celebrate and bring closure to this time of fasting, we will gather this Saturday, February 21st in the Sanctuary from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. for a Sacred Assembly.
The Sacred Assembly is a family-friendly gathering focused on fellowship and creative prayer. Please bring your children and/or grandchildren, as this is geared towards all ages. From 4:00 - 5:00 p.m., we will gather in the Lobby for a time of fellowship and snacks. Please bring a simple dessert or snack to share during this time. At 5:00, we will move to the Sanctuary and begin a time of worship and engage in prayer through several different prayer stations. The stations will lead us in times of declaring God's goodness, personal repentance, and creative prayer for our neighbors, our church, our country, and the nations. Come ready to hear from God and respond to God through prayer!
