Praying, Giving and Going ... for kids

In last week’s newsletter, we explored the unlikely connection between effective children’s ministry and 7th Generation Toilet Paper. If you missed it, click here to catch up! This is the bottom line- in all our ministry decisions (big or small), we should be seriously considering and prioritizing the impact on the coming generations. This is long-term and strategic decision-making that prioritizes Biblical values and people over busyness and endless programming. Deuteronomy 6:6-7 paint a clear picture of prioritizing our investment in the next generation: “These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.”
When we consider how to practically invest in the next generation, we can adopt the general ministry model of PRAYING, GIVING, and GOING. Everyone can do at least one of these things, and many us can do all three! In last week’s newsletter, we shared the opportunity to be on a Prayer Team focused on FAC children and youth. Would you consider joining this team and receiving specific prayer points over email on a weekly basis in order to strategically pray for the children’s and youth ministry? Regarding GIVING, on August 30th we will have a special offering focused on finishing up a renovation project in the Family Life Center. We are transforming the old stage area into a new classroom for our dedicated Children’s Ministry space. Our goal for this space is to prioritize safety for our children and teachers and facilitate age-appropriate discipleship initiatives with our children and youth. The right kind of space makes a huge difference! We are well on our way to completing this project but still need your support to cross the finish line, finish the renovation, and begin using it this fall.
