Going ... for kids

In the last few newsletters, we have been sharing some updates about children’s ministry here at First Alliance, along with some practical ways that everyone can engage with and invest in our children (nursery, preschool and elementary) and youth.
As with almost any ministry opportunity, we can apply the model of: PRAY, GIVE, and GO! Everyone can do at least one of these and most of us can do all three. In terms of PRAYING, please consider adding our children and youth to your personal prayer list and joining the FAC Kids/Youth Prayer Team. For more information or to join, please email Pastor Jason.
In terms of GIVING, please stay tuned to the announcements over the next two Sundays about how you can give towards a renovation project to ensure that we have safe and child-friendly learning spaces for our elementary children specifically. In terms of GOING, there are many ways to participate in a hands-on way, even if you don’t consider yourself a lead teacher.
Understanding the significance of investing in our children and youth (and their parents as well), how may God be leading you to GO and take part? On Sunday mornings, there are several ways to invest in our children. We do need more 2-3 lead teachers to teach once or twice a month, so that we can rotate effectively with our current teachers. We want all lead teachers to also participate in worship and not carry the whole burden of the class themselves. Not everyone feels called or equipped to be a lead teacher, but have you asked God about this? Beyond being a lead teacher, we also need several people to volunteer to serve on a “once-a-month” basis in a variety of roles: classroom assistant, check-in and check-out, snack team, etc. These roles don’t require any preparation or teaching, just a heart to get to know and serve the children in practical ways.
