On Wednesday, March 11, Pastor Mike and Carrol left to visit their children and grandchildren in Amman, Jordan. Within days, the Corona Virus that had impacted only selected parts of the world quickly spread everywhere and one after another, country leaders began to take action. This included the closing of the airport with no immediate way to get home. ... Finally, after several unsuccessful attempts to get out, they boarded a plane and came home on April 9.

Pastor Mike is posting this weekly blog to share observations and insights gleaned both during and after his trip, reflecting on the global crisis and ways that God could be seen in the midst of it all.

How do we really know that Jesus is the Son of God?

Son of God

This is a good question because who he is makes all the difference in the world. If he was only a man, then he is just one of many religious leaders that the world has had. But if he really is the Son of God, then everything he did and everything he said matters. ...

Why does God allow evil and suffering to exist?

Why does God allow evil

This is a good question because so many people ask it. It probably ranks as the top 1 or 2 questions that people raise when discussing the challenges of faith. It is also a good question because it seems to be at odds with the idea that God is good, loving and all powerful....

Why are we here?

Why are we here

This is a good question because it opens the door to understanding our purpose. Since all created things have purpose (even things that we create) it is only natural that we ask about God's purpose for us....
