EMPOWERMENT … God Gives Us Power to Do His Work 

1 Thessalonians 1:2-18 (Work produced by Faith, Labor prompted by Love, Endurance inspired by Hope) 

• When someone loves you, they naturally choose you.
• You must know you are loved by God and that God chose you to do His work.

Jesus promised power through his Spirit - Acts 1:8 (Acts of the Holy Spirit)

• If I as the preacher only speak to you, then it becomes a matter of word only, but when the Holy Spirit works through the Word, a great spiritual work is accomplished.

Alliance Core Value # 6 - Without the Holy Spirit’s empowerment, we can accomplish nothing

Jesus produces fruit through us as we abide in him and love each other - John 15:1-17 

• We must be rooted in Him if we wish to bear fruit for God.
• Every branch that DOES bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.

Jesus is committed to getting his work done - John 10:1-18

• Jesus opens the door for those who wish to do His Work.
• The shepherd has a personal connection with His sheep.
• Sheep are experts at discerning their shepherd’s voice.

1 Corinthians 2:4 –

• With Commitment from Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit, God’s work will get done.
