WHO WE ARE

Copy of Negative Space (2)We meet every Sunday from 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm

The Beacon is a time for both Middle and High School students (6th - 12th grade) to learn, experience, and enjoy. Our goal is to help students learn about God through thought provoking lessons and intentional small groups. We will help students experience God by setting aside nights that are for serving and growth. And, we will help students enjoy their time at the Beacon by creating an environment that is invitational for both current and new students through frequent events.

We call our ministry "The Beacon" because we believe that students can hear God's call and follow him as fully devoted followers of Jesus. Jesus himself said, "I am the light of the world," and he calls his followers to reflect this light to others. In his famous sermon on the mount, he said, “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." (Matthew 5:14-16). We want to be that light throughout our schools, families, and friends.

Untitled designIf you're looking to join the Beacon on weekly basis or just for a one time event, the first thing you will need to do is complete the registration. All students who want to join the Beacon or go on any outing with us must have a completed waiver form. This is for the security of both the student and the church. Students without a form will be unable to attend events with us. Don't worry, it doesn't take long; it's just necessary. Click on "register" above to complete the form.

JOIN THE TEAM

Beacon Team

Meet our Team: We are a group of individuals who love God and see the desperate need for our faith to be passed on to the next generation. We also may or may not be totally obsessed with dodgeball (but that's besides the point). We are always looking for more volunteers to step up and answer the call to lead the next generation. Interested? Then keep reading to see how you can partner with us.

Who? God has called us to be disciples making disciples. You could be the difference in a student's life. Where is God calling you to serve?

When? What works best for you? Our Middle School and High School groups meet every Sunday from 6:30pm until 8:00pm. We also have special events throughout the year including retreats and other weekend outings. Some of our leaders serve every week; some of them simply help out whenever they can. No need to feel locked in, we want you to serve where your gifts are most effective.

Why? At the Beacon we believe that our students are not the future, but the right now. We believe that God has called us to love them even when they are not very lovable.

How? We have a strategy that is based around 3 words: Learn, Experience, and Enjoy. Every month you can expect 2 weeks where we help students learn more about God through intentional lessons and small groups. 1 week where we provide the opportunity for students to be hands on with their faith and experience God (Outreach events, prayer walks, worship nights, etc.) And, 1 week where students are invited to bring a friend and simply enjoy the evening.

Still Interested? We were hoping you would say that. Send Pastor Mike an email and he will get you connected!

WHAT WE HAVE BEEN UP TO...

If you're new to the Beacon than you might want to know what we have been up to over the past year. We thought you might appreciate seeing some real footage from some recent trips we've taken. So warm up a bag of popcorn, sit back, and enjoy the show.
